Blackheath, London

Dartmouth Row

A Victorian corner house reworked top to bottom, with a garden-level kitchen and a full-height stair.

A Victorian corner house in Blackheath, taken from top to bottom. The plan was reworked around a new kitchen at garden level, with glazed doors folding back so the room opens straight onto the terrace.nnColour does the heavy lifting here. Deep green cabinetry, an oxblood shower room, a study in navy and a landing library in dusty pink — each room its own, but the joinery details and the herringbone floors carry through and tie them together.nnThe stair runs the full height of the house and was rebuilt with a painted balustrade and a chandelier hung down the void. At the top, the loft was opened up with curved plasterwork and a bathroom set under the eaves.
