Hidden House
Concealed joinery and integrated services, with a gym, wine wall and dressing rooms worked into the existing envelope.
Everything in this house is hidden until it is needed. Joinery runs flush to the plaster, services are buried in the build-up, and the shadow gaps are set out so the walls read as single planes.
A climate-controlled wine wall sits off the living room, and the lower floor holds a gym and shower room. Two dressing rooms were built into the existing envelope rather than extending, which kept the elevations untouched and the programme short.
The corner room and balcony were reworked to take dual-aspect glazing, so the plan gets light from two sides for most of the day.
