Notting Hill, London

Ladbroke Square

A curved stair and full loft conversion in a Notting Hill garden square, with light borrowed through internal glazing.

A house on a Notting Hill garden square, where the planning constraints are as demanding as the build. The centrepiece is a curved staircase — a curved plastered wall following the balustrade, both set out full size on site before anything was made.

The loft was converted across the full width, with rooflights and an internal window that borrows daylight into the landing below. It reads as part of the house rather than something added to the top of it.

Downstairs, a modern kitchen and a feature wall in the living room, with fitted joinery and a guest cloakroom worked into the existing plan.
