Town House

A period town house stripped back to brick and rebuilt. The original proportions were kept and the cornices, fireplaces and panelling restored, while everything behind the plaster is new — wiring, plumbing, insulation and heating.

Bespoke joinery runs through the house: panelled hallways, alcove shelving either side of the fireplaces, and a fitted dressing area off the principal bedroom. All of it was set out on site first, because nothing in a building of this age is square.

Two bathrooms and a walk-in shower were added on the upper floors, tanked and tiled from the centre lines so cuts land where they should.
